Welcome to the February edition of the newsletter. It promises to be an interesting month with a few more people enquiring about ASTRO and our special meeting to discuss the rules etc. for incorporating the group will have been held by the time you get this newsletter. Also there are a couple of projects nearing completion which will either be really exciting or depressing depending on what the results are.

JANUARY MEETING

The January meeting began at 7.50 with 12 people present, but by halfway through the meeting this had grown to 16 as all the latecomers arrived. (Kevin was too late to be even classed as a latecomer) Apologies were received from Andrew who was still recovering from the Confest and Michael who has recently become a father. Congratulations to the "Playfairs", Michael , Lesley and new daughter Saisha. We then got down to general discussion which began with information on two new enquiries into the group, one local and one from NSW. This was followed by Randal telling us about an electric vehicle which he has bought and is now spread across his garage. His intention is to get it going in it's original form and then try some free energy ideas on it. Tony then showed the latest coil he has wound, being a multitap unit to enable different combinations to be tried on version 1, 2 or 3 of the Adam's motors. Discussion then turned to Democrat Senator Coulter having viewed the first Stan Meyer tape but no feedback was forthcoming, and local radio talk show host Jeremy Cordo having enquired about inventions that have been supressed or bought up by oil companies etc. Ashley then talked about some new information he has received from Dan Winter in America about sacred geometry, earth grids, etc. This included a video which he has offered to bring along next meeting for us to watch. (See details at the end of this newsletter) A newcomer Cedric then told us of his experiments with Searle discs and requested some help in coil design. Finally Damien showed us some Natural healthcare products he has (I never did find out the name of them) and we then moved on to watch the video of Win Lambertson's free energy device. This was followed by the usual coffee, tea and chats with the last leaving at 1AM. (and it wasn't Dino)

NEWSLETTER (AGAIN)

Unfortunately the newsletter has gotten a little out of hand with up to 50 being sent out and only half of these being accounted for financially by meeting attendees or by a subscription. My policy has been to send out three copies, and if there was no meeting attendance in that time to not send any more. Several people have requested me to keep sending them to which I replied that $6 per year was needed to cover postage. However as no money has arrived, from the next newsletter I shall only be posting them out to those who either attend meetings or pay for postage. This way it does not become unfair to those who do pay. Newsletters will however still be available for free at the above address if you want to pick them up yourself.

MISSING BOOK AND VIDEO

My personal copy of Rex Research's edition 1, 2 and 3 on the Searle generator has still not appeared. Could everyone please check if they have it and if so let me know. Also the video on the 1991 Extraordinary Science Conference featuring Mark Benza, George Merkyl, Glen Rein and Troy Reed cannot be accounted for. The problem seems to be that people bring books etc. back to meetings and leave them on the table where someone else can pick them up. I think the problem is not in the regular group but in the transient population that come along to our meetings. To overcome this could all returns of borrowed books and videos please be handed to me and I will put them away and mark your name off the borrowers list.

VIDEOS

Ian Hacon has sent over the latest video catalogue from NUTECH ORGANICS. This will be available for all to see at the next meeting.

I have also just received the Vortexian Mechanics and Implosion Workshop tapes which is a series of lectures and hands on demonstrations by Professor William Baumgartner and Rhetta Jacobsen. Baumgartner has carried on the work of Victor Schauberger and has developed many amazing water devices including an over unity water turbine based on Vortexian Mechanics. There are six tapes and 12 hours of viewing so it would not be practical to show them all at meetings. However I feel it would be worthwhile to show the more interesting portions of the tapes at some time. Meanwhile I shall pass them on to those who are actually persuing this area of research. Ian has also sent over a couple of issues of Baumgartners newsletter "Causes" for us to look at.

While on the subject of video tapes, the article written below on the Low Temperature Phase Change Generator has six hours of NTSC video with it. If anyone is interested maybe we could have a day, or three nights (eg one a week for three weeks?) specifically to watch these tapes. Let me know if you are interested.

INTERSTATE ASTRO GROUPS

Are there any left ????? I have not heard anything from interstate since before Christmas.

LOW TEMPERATURE PHASE CHANGE GENERATOR

George has passed on the information regarding this device in book and video form (6Hrs of NTSC video) The idea seems like a good one and is apparently practical in that the inventor Dennis Lee claims the device can be built for $12000 (USA) and puts out a minimum of 12KW per hour (depending on weather conditions this could be a lot more) The unit can provide heat for hot water, central heating, electricity and the Fischer engine, which is part of the static "house" unit, can also be used to power a vehicle.

The basis of the device is a heat pump which extracts heat from the environment through collector panels and uses a refrigerant, which boils at a very low temperature, to effect the phase change (ie liquid to gas conversion) which enables a tremendous amount of energy to be absorbed. The difference between this and solar collectors is that this system only requires heat from the surrounding air and not direct sunlight. Consequently it will work day and night and in low temperatures.

After the gas has been energised and expanded from the absorbed energy from the environment via the collector panels, the gas is then fed into a compressor which compresses and heats it to approximately 250 degrees Farenheight. This gas is now hot enough to use to heat water or air and actually transfer the heat produced to a usable form. The ratio of how much energy is produced from a heat pump related to the amount of electricity input to the unit is called the coefficient of performance or COP. The average air to air heat pump has a COP of 2:1 which means 2 units of heat are produced from 1 unit of electricity. This system is claimed to have a COP of as high as 12:1. The reason this unit is so effective is that it uses a massive flat surface collector and an oversize condensor that literally floods the system with refrigerant. The 250 degree F gas is then used to excite another refrigerant gas which boils and drives a turbine to generate electricity. This turbine is 30% efficient which means only one unit of electricity is being produced from 3 units of heat. So if the COP of the original heat pump is 6:1 then for each unit of energy fed into the compressor which powers the device, 6 units of heat are produced which can make 2 units of electricity which allows 1 unit to be fed back into the compressor and one unit left over - for free! This is for the average operating condition of a COP of 6:1, but of course when the system operates at 12:1 , we then get 3 uunits of electricity for free. This is the basic system of heat / electricity generation but to allow consistent 24 hour operation a "heat box" has been developed. This is a box that uses a unique thermal storage mass which enables 20 million BTU's of heat to be stored in a one cubic foot area. This heat can then be used to provide heat in other locations or to back up the original system. This hot box can also be used to provide heat to run a Fischer engine in a motor vehicle with the unit being rechargable. Which leads on to the next part, the Fischer engine.

The Fischer engine runs on pressurised gas eg. steam. It consists of a pressure cylinder to contain high pressure and temperature liquid which is fed to a cylinder with a piston in it to provide a rotational movement. It is fed the steam by a rotating metal wheel with a small chamber machined into it. As the chamber rotates it opens up a hole that is normally blocked by the rotating metal wheel allowing a small amount of high temperature, high pressure water to fill the small chamber. As it rotates further (approx 180 deg.) it lines up with a hole into the piston chamber enabling the small amount of high pressure heated water to drop into it. A hydraulic effect takes place which forces the piston down the cylinder which in turn reduces the pressure in the cylinder. At some point this reduction in pressure causes the heated water to flash into steam which drives the rod even further down the shaft. Eventually when the piston is at the end of it's travel the energy from the steam is expended and it condenses into water which passes out of the cylinder through a weep hole to be recycled in the system. The original prototype engine was 6 inches in diameter and 13 inches long and put out 80 HP at 150 RPM with 50% efficiency. Higher HP ratings can simply be produced by increasing the diameter of the cylinder.

Below is a photograph of the unit that converts the heat into electricity while on the next page is a diagram of the complete system showing the heat pump circuit of panels, compressor, condensor, receiver and TX valve. This then supplies the heat to the Fischer engine which drives the electrical generator to supply electricity for home use. Also the Hot Box supplies household heat for central heating and hotwater 24 hours per day.

THE HEAT ENGINE AND ABR

Many people believe that a closed loop engine (one with no exhaust) that runs with no condensor Is not possible. For an engine that runs on gas or steam, it would be very difficult at best. The heat engine we built runs on a liquid in a way that demonstrates not only that It Is possible for an engine to run in a closed loop with no condensor, but it also demonstrates that the steam engine was not built to Its maximum potential. Before you discount the statement, hear this explanation about the way the engine Is designed. We realize It is hard to believe that the steam engine that has been thoroughly researched for 350 years, and that built the British Empire, was not properly designed. It Is even harder to believe that with all the research done by institutes worldwide over hundreds of years by hundreds of thousands of engineers, they didn't discover the mistake. 1 am going to try In this phone presentation to show you that it Is true. So, let's get started.

The unique heat engine has a pressurized boiler in which liquids are heated well in excess of their boiling points at atmospheric pressure. As an example: if water were used In the engine as the working fluid. it would be heated up to no more than 7202F, which Is the critical temperature for water. Because It Is In a pressurized vessel, the normal boiling point of 2129F at atmospheric pressure will be increased as the temperature of the liquid, and thus the pressure Is Increased. Believe It or not. water can be 7009F and yet remain a liquid If It Is under an incredible amount of pressure. As this pressurized liquid is inside the pressurized vessel, a carnming mechanism rotates a small. also pressurized, hard metal wheel, Into which Is etched a much smaller chamber. As this chamber rotates, it opens up a hole that is normally blocked by the rotating metal wheel, enabling a small amount of the 7002 high pressure water to fill the small chamber with perhaps a shot glass of the hot liquid. As the metal wheel continues to rotate to about 1809, it lines up with a hole on the other side where the shot glass of water drops Into the end of a piston chamber with it's rod pulled almost all the way back. As the high pressure 7002 water hits the small area at the end of the shaft, and covers the back surface of the big rod, there's a hydraulic eiTect on the end surface of the rod that drives it up the shaft in the piston chamber. The further the piston moves, the greater the volume of space the shot glass of water now occupies. The area increases enough that the boiling point of the water Is lower than the temperature it is at that point, so the hot water flashes Into steam and drives the rod even further along the shaft. The volume Is thus increased and work is expended, so that the temperature of the water is now lower than the boiling point at that little pressure and the steam condenses Into a liquid, falling out a weep hole In the bottom of the shaft as a much cooler liquid, to be recycled, with no condensor necessary.

The entire phase change occurs in the work cycle. A hot pressurized liquid hits the tight space at the end of the piston and, first by hydraulics and then by a phase change to steam. It drives the piston and then changes back to a liquid to go again. There Is no loss of latent heat in changing the vapor back to a liquid which accounts for over 50% of the losses in a normal steam or rankine cycle engine. Without losses of condensing the vapor back to a liquid, unheard of efficiencies can be obtained and thus a quiet, closed loop engine can be used anywhere. for any purpose, In any size engine, with no exhaust and no impractical condensing requirements. It will greatly Improve efficiency and will run with no exhaust or noise.

The one we built was about C' In diameter and about 14" long. It Is so lightweight that it can be picked up with one hand. That engine is able to put out 80 horsepower at 150 rpm and could last for years and years. It is a high torque, low rpm engine. The higher the temperature of the working fluid, the more horsepower the engine can produce. That means that by controlling the temperature in the boiler, the output of the engine can also be directly regulated. The heat source could be a gas or oil fired boiler, or even an electric boiler. This engine could be powered for free by the free electric concept explained in earlier sections.

EXTRAORDINARY SCIENCE MAGAZINE

Tony had a copy of this magazine at the last meeting and it looks as if it could be a useful tool in our research. It has been suggested that we subscibe to this magazine similar to what we did with the Crop Circle newsletter. I shall put it on the agenda for the next meeting to see what the general concensus is.

ADAMS MOTOR (ADELAIDE)

I have put the Sewer pipe machine back to original specifications after the 4 and 8 ceramic magnet rotors did not work very well. I have come up with an idea to confirm that the previous results were accurate by using another ammeter in series with the battery supply. This means that as well as this new meter, there will be one measuring the input to the motor after the feedback circuit and one measuring the feedback current.

Leon and Tony are working away on another prototype which has much better access to the rotor etc. so it will be easier to make changes and adjustments.

ADAM'S MOTOR (ANYWHERE)

A lot of people have apparently built Adam's motors and got them running. As demonstrated at one of our meetings we appeared to get overunity but this needs to be verified as in the article above. It is a not too difficult task to get a magnet motor to run but are any of them OVER UNITY as Adams claims is possible ? Does anyone know of this being achieved, particularly our interstate readers ? Please let me know of any information regarding experiments in this area.

NEXT MEETING

For this month only the meeting will not be on the usual night. Please take note of the change of date. It will however still be at the usual time of 7.30 PM, the date being

******* FRIDAY 25TH FEBRUARY *******

The video for this meeting will be:

SACRED GEOMETRY : THE UNIFIED FIELD

This video by Dan Winter and his computer "Mabel" is a colour 3D computer animation intensive on the pure geometric origin of sacred alphabet and symbol. It is 2 hours in length so I am going to show the first half beginning at 7.30, have the normal meeting discussions and then show the second half followed by the usual chats and tea / coffee.

The usual applies in that please bring $2.50 to cover video purchase and newsletter postage, and something for supper would be appreciated.

I hope to see you all at the next meeting !!!
