Welcome to the October edition of the newsletter. Since the last meeting experimenting has been continuing in both the hydrogen production and electrical generator field - more about these projects later. Recently Marie and I attended the "One Spirit Camp" at Burra at which I left some information leaflets and sample newsletters for people to take with them to spread the word on what we are doing. I was quite overwelmed by the response that I received from people who said they were really heartened by the fact that people like us were actually working as a group on earthly problems like pollution from this practical level. Most people I spoke to didn't have any technical abilities to offer but support our ideals while there were three people who said they were interested in the "working" side of our activities. These were Luke who is into designing energy efficient housing , Jim who is working with the earth grid and energy extraction from it and Rocco who being a friend of Kevins is probably into goats. Hopefully they will all come along to the next ASTRO meeting. If nothing else our group is now known a little wider in the area of the community which will understand and support us so we should grow from it. Remember the more people, the more ideas, abilities both mental and practical, the more contacts made, the faster we will achieve our aim of Free Energy.

SEPTEMBER MEETING

The meeting began with eleven of us out in the cold under the carport viewing a demonstration of the hydrogen cells in action. The tubular unit that I have built was connected to the car and run under vacuum while the flat plate unit that Andrew has constructed was demonstrated at air pressure. We then all wandered back inside to defrost and begin the meeting proper. There were a few new people present in the form of Caroline from the Village Community at Kuipto and Peter and friend who work with Alan. Dino gave a short talk on the results that we obtained from our experiments with the hydrogen generator (these appear later in this newsletter) followed by questions, answers, theories, maybe's and I don't knowbe's. It was decided at the meeting to subscribe to the Crop Circle Newsletter for 12 Months using some of the money set aside for videos as we now have enough for quite a while. The videos were then shown, the first one being Dr Merkyl and his "Cloning via Scalar Technology" of which I am still not sure what he was on about and I definitely don't know what it had to do with Scalar Technology. This was followed by one on Troy Reeds "Magnetic Motor" which was a slightly more in depth account of his machine than the video last month. Finally Robert's video of Sai Baba was screened intermingled with supper. Talking then resumed until the last stayers left at 1.50AM.

VIDEOS

The videos mentioned in last months newsletter have arrived from Ian and will be shown over the next few months meetings.
The only new video that I won't be showing will be the Crop Circle one. This is because it doesn't contain any new information, runs for THREE Hours and is a tape of the lecture that Colin Andrews gave here in Australia. The tape is available for anyone who wants to borrow it or if there is enough interest I will play it on a non ASTRO night for those without a video player.

CROP CIRCLE NEWSLETTER

As mentioned in the meeting report, it was decided to subscribe to the Colin Andrews newsletter. There is only one problem.......somebody picked up the order form from the table after the meeting so I don't know who to send the money to here in Australia. If anyone realises they have got the order form or have the address anyway could they please let me know so I can get the cheque off.

HYDROGEN PRODUCTION TESTS

Dino and I have carried out some tests on the cell that I have constructed. After the tests were completed we decided that at this point in time every thing we did complied with the teachings of conventional science as we know it. The tests were done at atmospheric pressure, not under vacuum which the video from the Eastern States suggests is important to the effect that they are claiming. Basically what we found was that the amount of gas produced is proportional to the current drawn by the cell. (double the current, double the gas output) Our container held 1.4 Litres of water, to which we added 1 1/4 Tablespoons of caustic soda. When conected to a 12 Volt car battery, this combination drew 30 Amps of current and produced 1 Litre of H2 and O2 in 50 seconds. This was the best result that we obtained. Dino then did the following calculations:

A 2 Litre engine uses air at 100 c.ft/ min. @ 4000 rpm (ie. 3000 Litres / minute)

Petrol mixture is 15:1, whereas hydrogen only needs to be between 30 to 90:1 because hydrogen has 3 times the power of petrol.

So, at 30:1 ratio we divide 3000 by 30 which gives 100 Litres per minute, or at 90:1 ratio we divide 3000 by 90 which gives 33 Litres per minute.

We produced 1 Litre per minute at best, so we are off the mark by 33 times and up to150 times at full revs.

I have since worked out how we can collect the gas accurately using the engine vacuum to draw it off so the next test is to check gas production under these conditions.

On the next page are photographs of the cell that I have constructed to give those who have not seen it an idea of what it is all about.

OTHER HYDROGEN PROJECT REPORTS

On a more positive note Andrew has been "full steam ahead" on his project. At the time of writing this he has completed the hydrogen gas producer and modified a carburetor to fit to his vehicle. I think he has probably watched the Interstate video about six times by now checking out the information contained within it. Andrew is using flat plates in his producer and says he is getting good gas flow off them. Hopefully by next meeting we should have some more news.

Robert has also been busy collecting stainless tubes for his unit and possibly we will see a demonstration of this unit at the next meeting ?

Ian Hacon has constructed a cell similar to the one I have built but still has to weld straps onto the cylinders to make the electrical connections so it can then be wired up. He has also made up a manifold for his testbed engine to enable a multitude of connections to allow for combinations of Hydrogen, exhaust return, vacuum lines or fuel vapour to be fed to it.

OTHER PROJECTS

I find it very encouraging that people are willing to give it a go and actually build some hydrogen test units. If we as a group are to find / develop some sort of alternative energy device then I feel that the more projects that are going on in parallel, then the more chance we have of getting somewhere and the quicker we are liable to do it.

Leon and I have gotten back into the Adams motor project and Michael has kindly offered to wind some coils for the unit. This is the type of support that I had hoped would come out of forming this group....Thankyou Michael.

Ian Hacon has also been doing some work on the Hyco fuel vapour system fitted to the vehicle that he normally drives. He is adding a second carburettor enhancer circuit in parallel to the original one but instead of operating all the time, it will switch in under power using the air solenoid circuit from the electronic control box. He is also planning on trying a mesh "basket" under the carburetor inside the manifold in an attempt to help vaporise the fuel. (Kevin and I have individually tried mesh without much success, but Ian may hit upon the right size and get positive results - who knows ?)

DARWIN TO ADELAIDE SOLAR CAR RACE

The 1993 Daido Hoxan World Solar Car Challenge will begin in Darwin on Sunday 7th November. Approximately 60 cars will take part in the race this year with entries from 17 Nations making up the field. The lead cars are expected to average over 70 Kms/Hr and will probably be using Australian solar cells. In the recent Dallas to Minneapolis "Solar Sunrayce" 75% of entries used solar cells developed by the University of NSW and manufactured by BP Solar. In the same race the first nine out of ten placegetters were using these cells. Anyway getting back to this years Aussie race, I think it will be very interesting to have a look at these vehicles when they are in Adelaide to check out the technology advances in the cars since last time they were here.

FUEL VAPOUR SYSTEM IN MELBOURNE

A company in Melbourne has developed a fuel vapour system which they have fitted to a Commodore. This car appeared on a current affairs programme recently in which it was claimed that the system improved the economy to 60 MPG. (since then I have heard that figures are actually closer to 100MPG, but could not be claimed on National television) The company involved is called OZ SMART and is looking for Australian investment to develop the system to marketing stage. Will we here any more from this group ??????

PULSED PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR

I have been told of an inventor in another state who is constructing a permanent magnet motor capable of powering a Holden vehicle. The motor is of pulsed design similar but not the same as the Adams motor. The motor is approximately 600mm long and 400mm diameter. Claims are that it will drive a car and it is expected that it will be fitted to and tested in a vehicle within the next two months. The inventor has built two smaller prototypes which have been fitted to vehicles and have supposedly completed long trips. The original motors have been run on 48 Volts down to 24 Volts while the latest one is designed to run on 12 Volts.

This inventor is also looking for backing and needs money in the order of $12,000 to complete the project.

MARKETPLACE PRODUCTS

GREEN BATTERIES

Fred brought along a catalogue to the last meeting from a company called GP BATTERIES who produce a "GREEN" rechargeable battery. This unit has nickel metal hydride cells and is listed as being free of toxic or hazardous elements such as cadmium, lead, mercury or lithium, and can be used repeatedly. The capacity performance is 30-50% over the best nickel cadmium cells of similar size, while 500-1000 discharge cycles can be expected under normal use. The non cadmium based nature of the cell means there is no memory effect and there is built in protection against polarity reversal during charging.

FUEL MILEAGE METER

At the last meeting Peter showed me a fuel monitor which he has installed in his vehicle which enables fuel economy to be monitored and updated continuously while the car is being driven. I thought this would be a great device for monitoring changes to fuel systems in the search to use less fuel. It is called a "Gas -Teller II" and is made by Leo Accessories. (Model No LE300DX) It is available from Auto Instument Services and costs $165 retail including tax or plus tax depending on which day you go there and who serves you.

WORKSHOPS & MEETINGS

Fred has advised me that the next meeting of the UFO Society will be held on Friday October 1st at 8PM at the Better Hearing Association at 183 Wakefield Street in the city. (entrance from the back lane off Frome Street)

AUSTRALIAN NIKOLA TESLA SOCIETY

I have enclosed a copy of a pamphlet with this newsletter on the Nikola Tesla Society for those who have an interest in this area of research. I thank Fred for supplying the original.

NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on the third Friday once again, at the usual time of 7.30 PM, the date being FRIDAY OCTOBER 15TH. The video for this meeting will be Stan Meyer's latest on his "Water Fuel Cell", a commercial venture for running vehicles on Hydrogen. This is a lecture which he presented this year, in which he goes into more detail than in his previous video that we have already seen. It appears he has also changed his ideas on dealing with Big Business, Governments and the Military from his previous publications and video.
The usual applies in that please bring $2.50 to cover video purchase and newsletter postage, and something for supper would be appreciated.

I hope to see you all at the next meeting !!!!

STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS
Leon and I spent another day working on the two Adams motor prototypes and succeeded in returning 50% of the power fed to operate the motor back into the supply on the original unit. This was achieved by using a laminated "C" core for the drive winding. Our previous best consistently obtainable effort was about 30% return. By playing with the timing we were able to actually get a feedback current reading higher than the input current but could not maintain the motor speed for more than about 1 minute. These results are very encouraging since we have not installed a generating winding at this stage. Input voltage was 20 Volts at about 500ma so the "C" core has enabled us to get similar performance as the old coil configuration as far as motor speed but at a greatly reduced current.
