November Technical Group Meeting

The meeting was opened by Robert at 8.10pm in which the 23 people present were welcomed with a special mention to the three new members.
The meeting immediately adjourned out to the carpark to inspect Philip's amphibian vehicle. This ingenious vehicle designed and built by Philip is registered as a caravan and a boat, the registration of which took about two years of arguments and lawsuit threats before the authorities relented and finally allowed it on the roads. Philip tows it to an appropriate beach, unhooks it from the car and drives it into the water, powered by an inbuilt Fiat 127 motor and driving all four wheels. Once in the water it is powered by an outboard motor attached to the back of the unit. Another interesting design feature is the hot water shower using water pumped straight from the cooling system of the Fiat engine. Philip said that the engine only needs to run  for a very short period to give hot water with the plus that it recharges the batteries at the same time. This was Philips last meeting with us as he is continuing his wanderings by heading west, with the next stop being somewhere in the Pt Lincoln region. Philip will be missed at our meetings and many thanks to him for his input while he was in Adelaide.

Jan was next with a video of an inventors forum that he attended in Poland last year. Various subjects were covered including a scooter, electric motor, healing , magnets and an energy absorbing car. This is designed to absorb the energy in a crash but unlike the crumple zones in modern cars, this car is undamaged after the impact. I imagine this fact would make it an unpopular option with car manufacturers. This design can also be used as a safety device to stop falling lifts. This video was followed by another on Philips first prototype "leaning into the corner" bike recorded in 1981.

Robert demonstrated a $380 brain tuner by Sota. This is another Bob Beck design from the 1980's which was based on Russian technology. The unit plugs into the body behind the ears and puts out a signal of 1KHz modulated with111.11Hz. Robert said that it was claimed to cure addictions although he would not say what addiction he was trying to cure by using it!

Ken was next with a demonstration of how a squirrelcage motor can be used as a generator. The motor used was from a grinder. First Ken demonstrated how if the motor is run and then unplugged, that no voltage is normally produced while the motor is running down. However if a capacitor is connected across the three pin plug, then the motor acts as a generator. Ken demonstrated this by lighting a 150W light globe as the machine ran down. In this particular motor the field rotates at 3000rpm while the motor runs at 2910rpm, thus to make the ideal generator, the motor should be driven at 3090rpm. The conversation then digressed onto wind generators  with some information being passed around from www.greeleynet.com on blade design.

Robert S brought along the crankshaft/piston assembly from a 4 cylinder rotary engine that he is assisting some friends to rebuild and get running. It was designed as an aircraft engine and was originally built in the 1980's in the Barossa on a pedal lathe! The engine is overhead valve, the pistons run on rollers on the crankshaft and the design means that the engine has perfect balance as opposing pistons go up and down at the same time.

Various subjects were then discussed including alternative windmill blade design, solar powered pool bug killers, biodiesel, the air powered car, the Perendev motor/generator (US$18000), Omnipol, another company with machines like Omnipols and a request for hydrogen information. The meeting closed some time after 10pm with tea, coffee, biscuits and chats being enjoyed by all with the last stragglers leaving the carpark well after midnight.

The explination on COP from Tom is well worth a read.

Dear John

You confuse COP with efficiency, and they are two quite different things. Even many of the textbooks confuse these terms quite often.

Rigorously, the efficiency of a motor or system may be defined as (total useful output) divided by (total energy input from all sources). No inert system can have an efficiency of greater than 100%, for that would be a violation of energy conservation.

The coefficient of performance (COP) of a motor or system may be defined as (total useful output) divided by (energy input by the operator only). If the operator only has to input, say, 10 joules of energy and the active environment freely inputs 90 joules of energy, then the total input is 100 joules. Now suppose that the system has 50% efficiency; i.e., it wastes or "loses" half the energy before it dissipates the rest of it in the load to do useful work. In that case the system outputs 50 joules of work for a total input of 100 joules, but with the operator only inputting 10 of those 100 input joules.

So this system has an efficiency of 50% but a COP =5.0.

A windmill, e.g., may have an efficiency of 30% or less, but its COP approaches infinity because the operator does not have to input any energy at all. He just pays for the siting, building of the windmill, repairs, and maintenance. And hopes his winds hold good.

The common home heatpump is usually not even 50% efficient, but in appropriate conditions it has a maximum COP = 8.22, and any good heatpump will actually produce about COP = 4.0.

In a  sailboat, you have to input some energy to move the rudder and steer it, but not nearly so much energy as is used to propel the boat through the water. The wind caught by the sail inputs the rest of it. Yet the sail is a fairly sloppy process also, and unless well-designed will not be nearly as efficient as a well-designed one.

So the trick is to get the active environment to give you a "free wind" so you can have something approaching a windmill. Or as close to that as you can get.

Fortunately, in electrodynamics there are many "free winds" one can make with ease. The simplest one is to just make a common dipole. Lee and Yang received a Nobel Prize in 1957 for their work in broken symmetry and the weak interaction. One of the broken symmetries that was proven was that of opposite charges -- such as are on the ends of a dipole.

The very words "broken symmetry" in power systems implies that something virtual has become observable. In other words, the charges of the dipole continually absorb virtual photons from the seething vacuum (that is proven and well-known, and one does not have to prove it again). The spin of the charges then coherently integrates that absorbed virtual energy into real, observable EM energy. The dipole thus pours out EM energy in all directions at the speed of light. Let it alone and don't destroy it, and it will pour out that energy indefinitely. The dipoles in the original matter in the universe have been doing that for some 14 billion years or so. We used that fact of broken symmetry of opposite charges, together with the known clustering of virtual charges of opposite sign around any "isolated" observable charge, to treat the observable charge as a set of composite dipoles. Hence this finally explained the long-vexing source charge problem: how does a charge just sit there an pour out energy in all directions at the speed of light, establishing its associated fields and potentials and all that energy in them? We explained that in 2000, after a couple or three years work on it.

A simple "free energy system" can be built for a dollar. Just place a charged capacitor (or electret) across a permanent magnet so that the E-field is perpendicular to the H-field of the magnet. That silly thing will sit there and pour out Poynting energy flow S = E x H, so long as you just let it alone. Wait one year, and it will have changed the energy density of a volume of space a light year in radius (reaching out beyond the solar system).

In solving the dipole and source charge problems, it was found that the energy input comes from the time domain into 3-space via the negative charge, and exits 3-space back to the time domain via the positive charge.

In electrical engineering, it is recognized that the source charge pours out the energy to create all its associated fields, but until 2000 there has been no explanation as to what furnished the input energy. In effect, electrical engineering and classical electrodynamicists for more than a century have assumed that every charge in the universe is a perpetual motion machine of the worst kind, creating energy out of nothing.

There is no problem at all in extracting all the energy one wishes from the active vacuum, anywhere in the universe, at any time. Just make a dipole.

The problem is in (1) catching some of that freely gushing EM energy in a circuit containing a load, and (2) dissipating the caught and collected EM energy in that load to power it, without using half the caught energy to destroy the source dipole(s).

That is the ONLY real energy problem on the planet, and always has been.

It is ironic that the National Academy of Science, the National Science Foundation, the great national test labs, the universities, and the private research institutes are not working on the sole energy problem at all.

Hope this helps.

ASTRO MEETING Friday November the 8th 2002

The meeting was opened at 8.15pm by Robert. He reminded everyone that the next meeting was the "Xmas Project Competition", with cash prizes for the best projects/inventions.

Ken...spoke on  aspects of the  ASTRO Webb page.

Janis...spoke on his trip to Poland and visit to the "Festival of Ideas and Inventions". He showed a video on a special invention, a bumper bar that absorbs almost 100% impact of a 60kph head on collision. It converts the energy of collision into a sideways rotational (spinning) energy. He said that it was a new technique of applying conventional physics. A glass of water in one of the colliding cars was shown in the video not to spill.

Yanis...also spoke Grebennikovs flying platform, and said that there was a lot of information available on the Webb using Google search engine. He said that it could travel at 40km/min flying above the ground. It is apparently designed on the anti gravity capability of the wasp.

Ashley...advised everyone that this night was the "Tenth" anniversary of ASTRO South Australia. He also said that PlanetX was now visible by a 12inch to 16-inch telescope, but next year it will be visible by binoculars.

Vic...mentioned that an American inventor was trying to resurrect the Myer water cell, where the energy came through the water from the a ether.

Ken...produced an article on a super volcano that is brewing beneath Yellow-stone National park in USA. It would wipe out a vast area of the park if it blew.

Rob...spoke on a Keith Wendell and his "Electron Pressure Recovery Technology" machine that speeds up wound healing through the application of between 30 and 700 nanno-amperes to the body.

Devashon...presented some material from the "Lost Tech Archives" to the library. He also mentioned the Nexus article on Dotto Rings and produced a magnificent model with white and red stickers showing the major power reference grids on earth.

Phil...asked if anyone had heard anything about the Tilley Motor. No one had. He also told us that this was his last meeting as he was heading west on his trip around Australia. He had previously shown us his amphibious caravan. It has a hull made out of 1/8" steel plate, an outboard motor on the back and four wheels powered by an internal engine. He said that he had often had incredulous looks from passing yachts when they saw a caravan perched on a small island up on the Great Barrier Reef. We all wished him good luck and will miss his inventive genius.

Robert...Introduced MARK McINERNEY from Midstar Technologies as the Guest Speaker for the night. The topic was "Water Enhancement".

Mark introduced himself and said that he was the sales manager for Midstar Technologies, an importer of plumbing gear, taps sinks etc. and a special Water-conditioning device called a "Vivifier". This was a German hi-tech invention from the Hamburg University. It reversed the polarity of the water.
as it flowed through it, reducing surface tension in the water and stopping calcium build-ups. It converts total dissolved solids into colloidal form and smooths out red wine as well as taking the bubbles out of soft drinks. It had been tested at a hydroponic lettuce farm, where the lettuces were fed on a nutrient mix in reverse osmosis water. They tried the Vivifier on brackish bore water and the lettuces grew into a magnificent crop. The bore water had previously proven disastrous for the lettuces. This enhanced water is also apparently equally good for the human body and hospital boilers. Please see the Webb site http://www.vivifier.com for more information.

Robert...thanked Mark for a very professional and interesting talk and invited everyone to supper.
Until next time.
